Learn More Explore Our Programs Exercise Science Exercise Science majors have a strong interest in participating in and in helping others to enjoy and benefit from physical activity. It requires an interest in the basics of biology, psychology and sociology and in being part of a helping profession. Learn more ➝ Health & Physical Education This program focuses on activities and principles that promote physical fitness, achieve and maintain athletic prowess, and accomplish related research and service goals. It includes instruction in human movement studies, motivation studies, rules and practice of specific sports, exercise and fitness principles and techniques, basic athletic injury prevention and treatment, and organizing and leading fitness and sports programs. Learn more ➝ Health Promotion and Wellness (Online) Our online program prepares individuals to assume roles as health/wellness professionals in private business and industry, community organizations, and health care settings. It includes instruction in personal health, community health and welfare, nutrition, epidemiology, disease prevention, fitness and exercise, and health behaviors. Graduates go on to exciting careers in marketing, broadcasting, sales, law, sponsorship, and many other fields. In pursuing your masters you will pick a concentration in either exercise and sport science or health promotion, recreation, and sports management. The mission of the School of Kinesiology is to develop highly skilled graduate and undergraduate students who will be competitive in the job market based around core experiences that consists of: innovative instruction, exposure to cutting edge scholarship, and community engagement. Kinesiology is a program in motion. We study human movement from a wide range of perspectives, in disciplines such as physical education, medicine/rehabilitation, sports performance, fitness, research, and other allied health areas. We combine traditional classroom activities with experiential learning to ensure our students gain the knowledge, skills, and values they need to become professionals in health and wellness. We offer a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with concentrations in exercise science pre-professional studies, exercise science health and fitness sales, exercise science fitness studies, health and physical education (K-12), and sport management. We also offer an online degree program in health promotion and wellness for students who want to expand their horizons outside of the classroom. The School of Kinesiology is a member of the American Kinesiology Association.
